footsteps in the sand

STORY

One night a man had a dream.
He dreamt he was walking along the beach with the Lord.
Across the sky flashed scenes from his life.
For each scene he noticed two sets of footprints in the sand:
one belonging to him, and the other to the Lord.

When the last scene of his life flashed before him,
he looked back at the footprints in the sand.
He noticed that many times along the path of
his life there was only one set of footprints.

He also noticed that it happened at the very
lowest and saddest times in his life.

This really bothered him and he
questioned the Lord about it:

"Lord, you said that once I decided to follow you,
you'd walk with me all the way.
But I have noticed that during the most
troublesome times in my life,
there is only one set of footprints.
I don't understand why when
I needed you most you would leave me."

The Lord replied:

"Oh my precious. precious child,
I love you and I would never leave you.
During your times of trial and suffering,
when you see only one set of footprints,
I didn’t leave you, it was then that I carried you."

there's always a point when you realize that everything is serious. that doing this thing isn't just fun and games... it's giving up stuff too. becuase it always comes down to whether you want to give it your all or give nothing. and sometimes people choose nothing and then everthing falls apart.

but it's the people with enough sense to know when something is worth giving everything for that give me hope. giving someone everything is harder than stopping everything. it's hard to have them know all your secrets, but so worth it when they can look you in the eye and still say they care about you.

i think you know which one is the best. give it your all. give your life everything you have. don't look back on your mistakes, only learn from them and never, ever repeat them. life live right now in this moment the way you want to live it forever. if you keep living that way, you'll never becoem something you don't like.

don't give up because something is hard. there are always people who can help you. who can carry you. and if no one can, they'll still help you anyways. they'll try. and even a little support can get you a far way.

don't give in to what other people want you to be. be yourself, it's really the only way. be someone who makes you feel good on the inside and if over people don't like it, too bad. it's the way things are. it's who you are.

live life to it's fullest.

isn't it weird when you find a person you would give anything to, do anything for. they just have to ask you and it's already done. it's weird to think of how much they have of you. anything they want.

it's wonderful being able to tell them that it's ok... you'll always be there. they can take time to figure out whatever they need. you'll never change your mind about loving them. you'll wait until they can look you in the eyes and say that they love you with everything. she doesn't have even that small part anymore.

i have the bigger part of him than she does. he hates that we likes her still. so he'll get over her. and i'll get him. which is what i want.
